INNOCENCE

Innocence is the soundtrack to Guy Davidi's powerful documentary film of the same name. The film is a harrowing insight into what it's like to grow up in a heavily militarized state where military service isn't only compulsory, but is seen as a moral and cultural obligation as well. Focusing on the inner conflicts and often tragic fates of young people who dared to resist, the film is an extremely timely reminder of the devastatingly dehumanizing effects of militarization in a global sense.

In his score, Snorri blends an intimate felted upright piano and the beautifully tragic quality of the string quartet with the emotional weight of the full orchestra – underlining the contrast between the tender innocence of a child, and the bleak reality that awaits it. Stylistically simple but emotionally complex, this soundtrack album leaves no one untouched.

JAULA (The Chalk Line)

Snorri showcases his versatility with this hauntingly disturbing score for psychological thriller Jaula (The Chalk Line), which reached no. 2 worldwide during its opening week on Netflix.

Working closely with longtime collaborator, multi-instrumentalist Karl James Pestka, the pair experimented heavily using various unorthodox tools to play the viola — including a hair comb and a glove specifically made to remove shed fur of Pestka’s cat, the latter playing a key role in the soundtrack!

CHASING THE PRESENT

In his soundtrack for Mark Waters' stunning documentary Chasing The Present, Snorri makes use of filtered strings, pianos, and hushed electronics to emphasize the film’s subject James Sebastiano’s struggle with perpetual anxiety.

This intimate score serves as a reprise from the stresses of everyday life and immerses us momentarily in a peaceful & dream-like world.
